What it is
Tapered roller bearings (TRB) are built from an outer ring, inner ring, tapered rollers, and a cage. The inner and outer ring raceways are tapered, with aligned tapered rollers running between them, so the bearing can carry combined radial and axial loads at the same time. Their distinguishing features are higher load ratings, adjustable mounted clearance, and an outer ring that mounts separately from the inner ring assembly.
