Bearing Failure Analysis

Who should use this service?
Maintenance and Reliability Engineers
Dealing with the same bearing failure again and again? We find the real reason, no guesswork.
Plant and Facility Managers
If repeat breakdowns are eating up your maintenance budget and downtime, we help put a stop to it.
OEMs and Equipment Manufacturers
Need to know if a failure is down to your design, the application, or something that happened during installation? We get to the bottom of it.
Common bearing failure modes
The real trick with bearing failure analysis is matching the physical evidence on your failed bearing to known failure modes, then figuring out where the problem started. Here are the usual suspects.
Lubrication-Related Failure
Too little, too much, dirty, or simply the wrong kind of lubrication wrecks bearings. You will often see flaking or scoring on the raceway.
Contamination
When dirt, dust, water or process material gets into the bearing housing, it speeds up wear and can pit or scar the surfaces long before their rated service life.
Misalignment
If the shaft or housing is not lined up right, the load ends up focused on one part of the bearing. That means uneven wear and a shorter lifespan, even if everything else looks fine.
Overloading
Pushing a bearing past what it is rated for, from a mismatch in design or extra stress on the job, puts it on the fast track to fatigue, with damage you do not have to squint to see.
Installation Error
Mounting with too much force, using the wrong tools, or not matching shaft and housing tolerances to spec can damage a bearing before it even starts running. These issues often get mistaken for product defects.
Corrosion and Creep
Water sneaking in or a bad fit between parts can lead to corrosion or creep, where the bearing ring slowly shifts against its seat. Both leave unmistakable wear patterns once you know what to look for.
Based in Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai, and with team members and partners across Morocco, Iraq, China and Sweden, MCB covers the UAE, GCC, the Middle East and Africa. We deliver on-site and remote bearing failure analysis for maintenance teams, contractors and plant operators throughout the region.
Reach out to MCB’s Engineering & Inspection Services team and set up a bearing failure analysis, wherever you are based in the UAE, Middle East or Africa.
Supplier and service provider, under one accountability.
Most service providers do not hold the parts, and most parts suppliers do not hold the instruments. Since 1984 we have done both, which is why a finding and its remedy arrive together.
Engineers, not only stockists
Alignment, vibration, thermography and failure analysis are delivered by our own engineers, the same people who advise on the product selection.
Since 1984, in the region
Four decades supplying industry across the UAE and GCC, with a Dubai warehouse and field coverage that does not depend on a visiting specialist.
Multi-brand independence
We distribute a wide range of leading bearing, sealing and transmission brands, so the recommendation follows the application rather than a single catalogue.
Findings tied to parts
When a survey identifies the fix, the component is usually already on our shelf, no second sourcing exercise between diagnosis and repair.
